Tributes and Memorials

Liriodendron tulipifera Accession Number: 2009_03809*AA gift to the Purdue Arboretum may serve as a lasting tribute to a friend, co-worker or family member.

Standards have been established for memorial tree plantings requested by a donor or donor group. To cover costs of the tree, labor to plant the tree, and watering for the first season to insure establishment, we are requesting a $500 dollar donation. It is campus policy not to include a plaque with a memorial tree planting. However, all memorial trees are kept on file in a database so they may be located upon request. We encourage donors to be on site the day of planting so photos can be taken.

All memorial tree donations should be paid by check, made out to the “Purdue Foundation” and mailed to:

Purdue University, Physical Facilities Fiscal Affairs
Attn: Laura Chapman
401 S Grant St
West Lafayette, IN 47907

Upon receipt of the donation, planning staff will be notified and the donor will be contacted to begin the process of determining an appropriate location, type of tree, and planting date.
