Class of 1894 Fountain

Also known as Memorial Fountain, the Class of 1894 Fountain was one of the first noted cases of Purdue’s alumni privately giving back to the University. A gift from the Class of 1894, it has been in its place since 1895, except for refurbishment in 1997. In 1996, in honor of their fiftieth reunion, the Class 1946 had the fountain renovated. Located in the Memorial Mall, the fountain sits across from University Hall, next to the grave of John Purdue, the principal benefactor at the University’s founding. Artist unknown.
