Campus Feature Class of 1894 Fountain Also known as Memorial Fountain, the Class of 1894 Fountain was one of the first noted cases of Purdue's alumni privately giving back to the University. Campus Feature Lion Head Fountain The Class of 1903 donated the "Lions Fountain" Memorial to the university as a drinking fountain. It was completed in the fall of 1904. The fountain was turned off and the drains plugged when the statue was relocated for the construction of Stanley Coulter Annex sometime between 1923 and 1931; it remained non-functional for many years. Campus Feature Loeb Fountain at Founders Park The Loeb Fountain was originally located on the Purdue Mall in front of Hovde Hall. It was built in the summer of 1959 through funds donated by Bert and June Loeb to honor Solomen Loeb, a local merchant. Campus Feature McGinley Plaza and Fountain The fountain and plaza are dedicated to J. Timothy McGinley, an Indianapolis businessman who has served for two decades on Purdue's board of trustees. The plaza's design, created by David Young from the firm Second Globe, incorporates math, geometry and science, and shows how these disciplines relate to natural phenomena.
