Tree Ulmus × 'Patriot' [Patriot Elm] 'Patriot' is a cultivar with high resistance to elm leaf beetles and Dutch elm disease. It also has some resistance to elm yellows. It has green leaves that have a glossy texture and turn yellow in the fall. It is used many times as a street tree due to its fast-growing nature and its road salt tolerance.

Pink buds open to clusters of white fragrant flowers in May. Leaves change from a dark green to a vibrant orange-red in the fall. Bacterial leaf spot can be a problem in some settings. Prune immediately after flowering for best flower show the next year.
