Tree Acer rubrum 'Franksred' [sold as Red Sunset®] [Red Sunset Red Maple] Faster growth rate than the Norway Maple and Sugar maple. One of the best Red Maple cultivars on the market, as it colors before October Glory. Great choice for flood plains or wetter areas in the landscape.
Tree Acer rubrum [sold as October Glory®] [October Glory Red Maple] The October Glory Maple is one of the more popular Red Maple cultivars used in landscapes. This cultivar tends to hold its lustrous green leaves well into the fall season before changing to a vivid reddish-orange. Early freezes in northern parts of the country can hinder fall color.
Tree Acer rubrum 'Sun Valley' [Sun Valley Red Maple] This rounded oval cultivar prefers moist soils, even tolerating wet soils. The Sun Valley Red Maple has red, showy flowers that bloom in March, but does not produce fruit.
Tree Indiana Native Acer saccharinum [Silver Maple] Grows largest along stream banks. One of the best trees for poor soils, and in places where a functional shade tree is quickly needed. Roots invade and clog drainage tiles, and break sidewalks. Very weak wooded. Many disease and insect problems.

It is resistant to heat, drought, and leaf scorch, This cultivar has an excellent symmetrical, round, and upright form.
Tree Acer saccharum 'Commemoration' [sold as Commemoration®] [Commemoration Sugar Maple] This fast-growing cultivar is known for its oval shape and brilliant fall color. The Commemoration Sugar Maple tends to show its fall color in early November; nearly two weeks earlier than the straight species. Resistant to leaf tatter.
Tree Acer saccharum 'Endowment' [Endowment Sugar Maple] The Endowment Sugar Maple is known for its tight columnar shape. It is best to place this tree where its roots are not restricted. More drought tolerant than other Sugar Maples. Used for as a screen and street tree.
Tree Acer × freemanii 'Armstrong' [Armstrong Red Maple] The Armstrong Red Maple is a cross between Acer rubrum and Acer saccharinum and is known for its columnar habit and brilliant red to red-orange fall coloration. This species has the durability of the Silver Maple and can tolerate urban conditions. The root system is less aggressive, though, so it can be planted as a street tree.
Tree Acer × freemanii 'Celzam' [sold as Celebration®] [Celebration Freeman Maple] 'Celzam' has a classic upright form with uniform growth, making for a great specimen tree in the landscape. This plant, like most Freeman hybrids, is generally seedless and is also known for its fall color. In early October, 'Celzam' becomes a brilliant red and then slowly changes to gold by late October.
Tree Acer × freemanii 'Marmo' [Marmo Freeman Maple] The Marmo Maple has similar characteristics to its Silver Maple parent, more so than to its Red Maple parent. This cultivar produces staminate flowers, and therefore is seedless. 'Marmo' fall color ranges from reds to greens. Once established, it becomes tolerant to most pests and disease.
