Tree Acer rubrum [sold as October Glory®] [October Glory Red Maple] The October Glory Maple is one of the more popular Red Maple cultivars used in landscapes. This cultivar tends to hold its lustrous green leaves well into the fall season before changing to a vivid reddish-orange. Early freezes in northern parts of the country can hinder fall color.
Tree Acer rubrum 'Sun Valley' [Sun Valley Red Maple] This rounded oval cultivar prefers moist soils, even tolerating wet soils. The Sun Valley Red Maple has red, showy flowers that bloom in March, but does not produce fruit.

The Commemoration Sugar Maple tends to show its fall color in early November; nearly two weeks earlier than the straight species. Resistant to leaf tatter.
