 Diagnostic Characteristics:
Alliums have oniony smelling flowers and foliage while some are grown for culunary purposes and others purely for ornamental reasons. Ornamental Alliums in generall reach a height anywhere between 3" to 4-6' tall. Plants typically produce showy flowers which are pink/pale purple which rise above the grass like leaves.

Additional Information

Tolerates a wide range of soils but it performs well in sandy soils. It is wasily grown in average moisture, well drained soils in full sun or partial shade. The bulbs are best planted in the fall.
