 Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves (4-6" long and 1-2.25" wide) are alternate, simple and obovate with entire margins and a rounded apex. Both vegetative and flower buds are covered in silky pubescence. Stems are vertical lenticels and are fragrant when bruised. Flowers are white with pink-tinged bases, 18-25 tepals, and frangrant.

Additional Information

Encore Loebner Magnolia has a more rounded, compact habit than the hybrid Magnolia x loebneri, reaching 10-12' in height. This cutlivar has anywhere from 18 to 25 tepals that are pink-tinged at the base. Plant in a protected location to prevent spring frosts from damaging the flowers.
