 Diagnostic Characteristics:
The flat, glossy, needle-like leaves (0.5-1.25" long) are spirally arranged, but generally 2-ranked on horizontal shoots or heavily shaded plants. Dark green (almost black) above with dull streaks below.

Additional Information

Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata' is a columnar, female yew with very strongly, upright branches and lustrous, deep green foliage. Tolerant of shade and heavy pruning. Marginally hardy in USDA zone 5. Can be siginificantly damaged by deer.
