 Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves simple, opposite or in whorls of 3's, ovate, 3-6" long and 1.5-3" wide, acuminate, rounded or tapered at base, toothed. Setose pubescent beneath, especially on veins. Older bark often peeling, exposing lighter grays.

Additional Information

'Tardiva' has a dense habit and flowers later, in September. Very hardy and adaptable plant, difficult to kill. Remove grown flowers late in fall as they are not attractive.
