Diagnostic Characteristics:
'Cousin Karl' has a tight and upright habit. Its blades turn to shades of purple and blue going into the fall. The flowers are shaped like a turkey foot with three long flower clusters about 4 inches long and have a purplish color. The stems with flattened leaves are 2 feet long and 3/8 of an inch wide. The flowering stems are taller at 4-8 feet tall.
