Nepeta racemosa is a low-growing perennial that typically forms a spreading clump with upright stems that are roughly 12 inches tall. The mass will reach about 18 inches in width. Leaves are grey-green, ovate in shape, and hairy, about 1 inch long. They have prominent veining and a heart-shaped base. The leaves are fragrant when crushed or damaged. Flowers are lilac in color, clustered in false whorls, and bloom in the spring. Under the right conditions, they may continue to bloom throughout the summer and into early fall.
