Diagnostic Characteristics:
Glossy evergreen leaves (1 3/8" long by 4/5" wide) are dark green and slightly convex above; dotted beneath with pellucid glands; crenate-serrulate or serrulate with 6-10 teeth per margin. Young stems are green 1st year and often densely pubescent.
