Leaves are opposite, simple, and 4.5" in length and width. Fall color is unusual due to its mid-fall color change from light red to deep reddish-purple. Fruitless cultivar.

'Brandy Wine' is known for its change of fall color from light red to deep reddish-purple in mid-fall. Its shallow root system makes this tree to be a great choice for street or urban conditions. This cultivar only produces male flowers, so no fruit develops.
