Flower Notes:
White (Creamy-white, lemon scented, 2-3" dia. flowers with 9-12 petals from May-June and even into September)
Foliage Notes:
Green (Dark green above and silvery beneath in summer; poor fall color)
Fruit Notes:
Red (Greenish red aggregate fruits)
Soil Notes:
Prefers acidic and moist soils but can tolerate extended flooding conditions; alkaline soils can cause chlorosis
Diagnostic Characteristics:
Thick leaves are alternate, simple, entire, elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, 3-5" long and about half as wide, lustrous dark green above, with a distinct grayish bloom below. Can be evergreen but usually drop leaves in the winter in zone 5. Silky buds.
