Parallel-veined, bristly-edged, sword-shaped, medium green leaves, resemble those of yucca.
 Stem Notes:
The smooth, stiff, and stout stems are unbranched until the top, where the spherical flower heads cluster.

Dry, oblong fruit measuring about 4 to 8 millimeters long.
