The leaves are 3 to 5'' wide with 5 roughly triangular lobes. The flowers are greenish yellow and a diameter if 1/3 to 1/2". The fruit is Samaras that are 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" long.

'Pacific Sunset®' is an Acer truncatum X Acer platanoides hybrib. it has dark, glossy leaves in the summer and bright yellow-orange to red leaves in the fall. They are not commonly used but are known for being adaptable to a wide variety of landscpaes.
