Leaves are star shaped, 2-4" long by 1-3" wide with palmate veination. The fruits (samaras) tend to be in 0.5-1" in length and are very showy. In the spring, clusters of small red flowers will appear underneath new leaf growth.

Additional Information

This popular tree is chosen for its stunning purplish-red leaves during the summer months. However, if the summer is particularly hot and dry, the color will dull to a greenish-red hue.
