Flowers:
Pink (Single pink flowers (1.25-1.5" dia.) on 2-6 flowered umbels; late April to early May)

Diagnostic Characteristics:
Elliptic-ovate to oblong-ovate alternate leaves are 3-5" long and 1.5-2.5" wide, sharply serrate. Rounded to subcordate at base. Petioles have 2-4 glands near base (larger glands than Prunus serotina). The Columnar Sargent Cherry has a more columnar to oval-vase shape than the straight species.
