Flower Notes:
Bears both male and female flowers in light yellow or pale green color
Foliage Notes:
Green (Evergreen foliage is dark green and loosely feathery to tightly packed)
Stem Notes:
Grayish brown, slender, and very small buds
Fruit Notes:
Brown (Small cones; not ornamentally important)
Soil Notes:
Excellent for moist, well-drained acid soils or sandy soils; tolerates alkaline soils

Eastern Canada, North Eastern United States
Diagnostic Characteristics:
Regularly 2-ranked needles (0.25-0.6" long) with 2 whitish bands beneath. A few needles flip over on top down length of the stem. Cones are 0.5-1" long.
