Foliage:
Green (Lustrous bright green soft needles in the summer); Orange (Fall color can be an excellent orange-brown to red-brown)
Fruit:
Brown (Round cones beginning green and maturing brown)
Soil:
Widely adapted to soils; tolerates extended flooding
Diagnostic Characteristics:
Pinnately compound leaves are comparable to those of Taxodium distichum, except oppositely arranged with leaflets placed opposite, with rounded tips, and a distinct groove on top (adaxial). Also has "arm-pit" like depressions below branches that distinguish it from Taxodium distichum.
