Leaves (8-12" long) are alternate, odd-pinnately compound with 7-11 leaflets (1.5-3.5" long). Glabrous below. New leaves emerge silver. Stems are heavily and irregularly lenticelled. Bark is golden brown and mottled.

Additional Information

The Summertime Amur Maackia is a small tree with low branches, attractive mottled bark, and upright, creamy flower racemes that appear in the summer. This tree, closely related to Cladrastis kentukea (American Yellowwood), is an adaptable plant that is able to fix atmospheric nitrogen.
