Leaves (2" long) are opposite, simple, ovate to ellipitical to obovate, and glabrous with acuminate apex and finely serrated margins. Fruits are 4-lobed, deep red capsules that split to reveal seeds encased in bright orange arils.

Additional Information

The Siberian Spindletree is a large shrub (or sometimes small tree) that has showy 4-lobed, crimson fruits appearng in late summer followed by handsome red fall color. Plant can be affected by scale.
