 Diagnostic Characteristics:
Alternate, deeply dissected, pinnate complound leaves 1-2 feet long, 13-27 serrated, lance-oblong leaflets each 2-5 inches long and 1-2 inches wide, yellow-green above and glaucus beneath. Rounded, velvety, purplish stems. Greenish-yellow, 4-8 inch long flower panicles in June to early July. Crimson red, showy drupes in late August to April.

Additional Information

The Tiger Eyes cultivar makes a great landscape plant as it suckers less than the species, and for it's nice foliage.
