 Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves (1-3" long by 0.25-0.5" wide) are opposite, simple, oblanceolate with an obtuse apex. Bark on older stems peels and exfoliates. The showy flowers, borne in small cymes, are 0.75-1" across with 5 petals and a large dome of numerous long stamens.

Additional Information

Hypericum prolificum is a compact, rounded Indiana native shrub. The attractive bright yellow flowers, appearing in summer, are unique and crowned by a dome of many long stamens. This species can suffer in hot and humid environments, causing it to become prone to root rot and wilt.
