Flower Notes:
White (Flower buds are pinkish red and open to whitish pink in early to mid April before the leaves; very sweetly fragrant)
Foliage Notes:
Bronze (Reddish bronze-tinged foliage emerges in the spring); Green (Dark green summer foliage); Red-Violet (Reddish to red-purple fall foliage)
Fruit Notes:
Red (Fruit colors red initially and turns to black in July to August, rarely a good display)
Soil Notes:
Prefers moist, well-drained soils
Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves (1.5-4" long, 1-2.75" wide) are opposite, simple, ovate to oval, acute, serrate with triangular teeth, slightly pubescent above and on veins below, 5-6 pairs of veins, veinlets are impressed above and below, dark green in color. Petiole is purplish-red. Stems are quite smooth.
